Anthony Gordon has told Everton and manager Frank Lampard that he wants to join Chelsea, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein.

The 21-year-old would like to play in the Champions League and reportedly believes he'd strengthen his case to break into England's World Cup squad if he moved to Thomas Tuchel's side.

Chelsea are prepared to pay an initial £50 million for Gordon, with a further £10 million in potential add-ons, Ornstein reports.

Despite the enormity of the figures involved, the Toffees are under no pressure to sell after banking up to £60 million from Richarlison's sale to Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer. It's also unlikely a deal will be struck before the Sept. 1 transfer deadline because Everton have little time to find a replacement for Gordon.

The Merseyside club has no concerns over Gordon's attitude should a switch not occur this transfer window. The youth-team product has three years left on his contract at Goodison Park.
