Jose Mourinho took aim at Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after his Tottenham Hotspur side fell late at Anfield on Wednesday.

The Spurs boss and his Liverpool counterpart exchanged words on the touchline following the Reds' 2-1 victory. Liverpool hold a three-point lead over Tottenham atop the Premier League's summit after Roberto Firmino's 90th-minute winner.

"I told (Klopp) the best team lost. He disagreed and that's his opinion," Mourinho said in a post-match interview, according to The Guardian's Rob Smyth.

"By the way, if I behave the way he does on the touchline, I am (sent off) a minute later," he continued.

The interviewer suggested that Klopp was merely animated during a tense finale, prompting Mourinho to double down on his assertion that officials treat him differently.

"Come on, that's animated? That's animated? Do you want me to take the board with the added time from the fourth official's hands and see what happens to me? For some reason I am different, and that's sad," he said.

Tottenham lock horns with Leicester City, another Premier League high-flyer, in north London on Sunday. Liverpool travel to Crystal Palace a day prior.
