Dejan Lovren is leaving Liverpool on a high note.

The World Cup finalist is off to Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg following six seasons with the recently crowned Premier League champs, Liverpool announced Monday.

Zenit have reportedly paid a €12-million transfer fee for the central defender, according to the Guardian's Andy Hunter and Jacob Steinberg.

Lovren, 31, featured 185 times for the club following a move from Southampton in 2014.

"Another Liverpool legend who leaves the club, because he was absolutely a very, very important part of this team from the first day since I was in," Reds boss Jurgen Klopp told Carroll.

The Croatian international's influence waned over the last season as Joe Gomez claimed a starting role alongside Virgil van Dijk in central defense, though Lovren did start last year's Champions League final conquest over Tottenham.
