Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has extinguished rumors of a potential reunion with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"I have more than a connection, amazing player, amazing guy, but I would say no chance," Mourinho said when asked about a move for Ibrahimovic, according to the Evening Standard's Tom Doyle.

Mourinho and Ibrahimovic have worked together before at Inter and Manchester United, and with the towering Swede's two-year stay in MLS over, Spurs have been one of several sides linked with the striker.

However, Tottenham's new manager quashed those rumors while shining the spotlight on his current star striker.

"We have the best striker in England. It doesn't make sense to sign him when we have Harry Kane," Mourinho added.

Kane currently sits joint-fifth in the Premier League with seven goals after leading Euro qualifiers with a dozen tallies for England.

Ibrahimovic has also been associated with a return to Serie A. Milan, Bologna, Napoli, and Fiorentina have all been linked with the 38-year-old, who bagged 52 goals over the last two seasons with the LA Galaxy.
