Everton is nearing a deal to acquire Watford forward Richarlison for a fee that could reach £50 million, according to the BBC's Phil McNulty.

McNulty notes the initial fee for Richarlison is expected to be approximately £35 million, though potential add-ons could inch the overall cost closer to the £50-million mark.

If completed, the deal would reunite the Hornets' Brazilian winger with manager Marco Silva, who oversaw Richarlison at Watford for the first half of the 2017-18 season. It would also rival Everton's current record transfer signing when it landed Icelandic playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City in 2017 for a reported £45-million fee.

Richarlison joined Watford on a deal worth £11.5 million last August from Brazilian club Fluminense. The 21-year-old scored five goals in his first 12 matches for the Hornets, but he failed to find the back of the net for the rest of the 2017-18 campaign.

He featured for Brazil at the 2017 Under-20 South American Championship, scoring two goals in eight matches as the country's youth side placed fifth in the final stage.
