Joe Hart's inclusion in Manchester City's pre-season tour of the United States could be a drawn-out farewell.

Following unimpressive loan spells with Torino and West Ham United over the past two seasons, Pep Guardiola wants to offload England's former No. 1 on a permanent basis rather than let him run down a contract that expires next summer.

So far there has just been tentative interest from clubs outside of England, according to BBC Sport's Simon Stone.

"Joe is our player. I know it is not easy for him," Guardiola said of the former Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper, per Stone.

Guardiola added that the club "will try and find a solution," but revealed he is prepared for the 31-year-old to "stay here" if no acceptable bid is lodged for Hart prior to the English transfer window shutting on August 9.

Manchester City's only significant addition in the summer window has been Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City for a reported £60 million, with Jorginho opting to join Chelsea over the reigning Premier League champion. City is likely to seek an alternative midfielder in the transfer market, and Guardiola insists he is not perturbed by Jorginho's decision.

"I am not disappointed," Guardiola insisted. "English football has signed an exceptional player. We tried but my advice always is that players should go where they want.

"It would have been a mistake if he'd come here when he wanted to go to Maurizio (Sarri) and Chelsea."
