Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon and Tom Cairney and Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves have been nominated for EFL Championship Player of the Year.

The shortlists for the annual awards was released by the EFL on Wednesday, with honours set to be handed out across 12 categories on April 15 in London.

Neves, 21, has been a major factor in the Wolves' longstanding spot atop the Championship table this season, making 36 appearances for the club since joining from Porto for a reported £15.8 million in the summer. Capped five times by Portugal and the youngest player to ever captain a side in the Champions League, he has also been nominated for the Young Player of the Season award.

Like Neves, Cairney, 27, is a central midfielder largely responsible for his side's hopes of a return to the top flight, scoring four times in 28 appearances for third-place Fulham.

Sessegnon has been nominated for four awards, with the 17-year-old full-back also named for the EA Sports Young Player of the Season, LFE Apprentice of the Year, and Football Manager Team of the Season. The England youth international has 14 goals in 40 appearances this season.
