Canada released its men's squad for the upcoming Gold Cup a day after its 2-0 defeat to the United States in Sunday's Nations League showpiece.

Alphonso Davies, Jonathan David, Cyle Larin, Ismael Kone, and Tajon Buchanan are among the big-name absentees from the summer tournament. Atiba Hutchinson, who suggested the Nations League Finals would be his last international appearance, is also left out.

The Gold Cup roster includes Stephen Eustaquio, Junior Hoilett, Jonathan Osorio, Milan Borjan, and Steven Vitoria along with seven uncapped players.

Canada opens its campaign on June 27 against the winner of Tuesday's qualifier between Guadeloupe and Guyana. It rounds off its Group B commitments with fixtures against Guatemala (July 1) and Cuba (July 4).
