Zenit St. Petersburg manager Andre Villas-Boas is interested in bringing Radamel Falcao to the Russian champion on a loan deal in January, according to Jason Burt from the Telegraph.

The Colombian is currently four months into a temporary spell with Chelsea, but he has endured a miserable time in the English capital, starting just one Premier League match.

Villas-Boas allegedly wanted the striker in the summer after a similarly disappointing loan spell at Manchester United came to an end, but was unable to match the financial demands of his parent club Monaco.

In order to push through a move to Zenit, Chelsea would have to cut Falcao's season-long loan short.

The 29-year-old has worked successfully with Villas-Boas in the past, plundering goals in Porto's undefeated treble-winning season of 2010-11.

The move would also see Falcao reunited with Hulk. The pair scored 74 goals together in that historic campaign.
