Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris was named Grey Cup MVP after leading his team to victory over the Montreal Alouettes in the 112th Grey Cup.

Harris captained the Roughriders to victory by throwing for 302 yards and completing 23 of 27 passes for a Grey Cup-record 85.2 completion percentage, and did so without throwing an interception. While he didn't pass for a touchdown, Harris did lead drives that ended in a pair of rushing majors for short-yardage QB Tommy Stevens, and a third rushing touchdown by tailback A.J. Ouellette.

The win marked the 39-year-old pivot's first Grey Cup championship as a starting quarterback. Harris won rings as a backup in Toronto and Ottawa, but had lost his lone previous Grey Cup appearance as a starter in 2018.

Harris is the first Roughriders QB to win Grey Cup MVP since Kent Austin in 1989.

Roughriders wide receiver Samuel Emilus, meanwhile, won the Dick Suderman Trophy as the game's Most Valuable Canadian. The Montreal native hauled in all 10 of his targets for 108 yards to become just the eighth player ever, and first Rider, with at least 10 receptions in a Grey Cup game.

Emilus the fourth Roughrider to win Most Valuable Canadian, joining Dave Ridgway in 1989, Andy Fantuz in 2007, Keith Shologan in 2010, and Chris Getzlaf in 2013.
