Report: Ticats' Mitchell set for surgery on lower leg fracture
Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell is set to undergo surgery Sunday on a lower leg fracture suffered late in Friday's victory over the Ottawa Redblacks, TSN's Dave Naylor reports.
The expectation is he could return after his stint on the six-game injury list, Naylor adds.
Mitchell suffered the injury in the closing plays of Friday's 16-12 win. Backed up against his goal line, the signal-caller rushed forward while in victory formation and came up favoring his ankle. Teammates carried the signal-caller off the field. The Ticats expected Mitchell to take a knee to end the game, Naylor reports.
Friday's contest was Mitchell's first game since being placed on the six-game injured list in June. He threw five interceptions in the win but also tossed two touchdowns.
