The Canadian Football League Players' Association reached an agreement with the league that will allow its players to opt out of their contracts beginning Monday, reports Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The deal permits players to pursue workouts with the NFL after the CFL canceled its 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Calgary Stampeders linebacker Nate Holley was granted his release on Wednesday to pursue NFL opportunities. The league's Most Outstanding Rookie in 2019 previously had stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams but was waived before the 2018 season began.
