Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach and general manager Chris Jones is leaving the team to take a job with the Cleveland Browns, according to TSN's Dave Naylor.

Jones will act as a defensive assistant with the Browns, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Roughriders had reportedly inked Jones to an extension running through the 2020 season for both his positions last week. He'd been with the team since the 2016 campaign after leaving the Edmonton Eskimos and had previous stints with the Montreal Alouettes, Calgary Stampeders, and Toronto Argonauts in various capacities.

He was named Coach of the Year in 2018 and is a four-time Grey Cup champion.
