Tiger-Cats promote Phillip Lolley to defensive coordinator
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have promoted linebackers coach Phillip Lolley to defensive coordinator, the team announced Tuesday.
"Phillip is a great football mind that has been around the game at all levels for a very long time," Hamilton head coach Kent Austin said. "He has been an excellent addition to our coaching staff this season and we fully expect him to flourish in his expanded role with our team moving forward."
Lolley will take over for Jeff Reinebold, who was offered another role with the organization.
"We want to thank Jeff for his significant and positive contributions to our organization and hope that he will continue to call Hamilton home in the near future," Austin said.
Changes appeared to be inevitable with the Ticats after a disastrous 0-6 start, that included an embarrassing 60-1 defeat at the hands of the Calgary Stampeders.
