Sitting seventh in the Bundesliga table and on the cusp of a coveted Europa League berth, Mainz has signed Danish Under-21 standout Emil Berggreen from second division side Eintracht Braunschweig.
The angular striker joins Mainz on a contract through 2019 on the heels of 10 goals in 26 appearances for Braunschweig in 2015.
Berggreen, 22, is an academy product of Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjaelland, and at 6-foot-4, is a towering threat on set pieces.
