U.S. youngster Christian Pulisic elated with Dortmund chance
One of the United States Men's National Team's brightest young talents, Christian Pulisic, has expressed his delight with his opportunity to train with Borussia Dortmund's senior team.
Can't blame the kid, there are few teams in Europe that play with the attacking impetus and panache of Thomas Tuchel's second-place Die Borussen. A successful campaign with Borussia's youth side prompted his promotion to the first team
"It's a big opportunity and we are enjoying it," the 17-year-old told Borussia's TV channel.
"All the pros are very nice - they help us all the time. We have to respect the pros, but we also have to give it our all every day and fight hard for our place."
"A door has opened for them now in our small squad. Their positions were created, and one thing can lead to another," Tuchel said.
Pulisic, who was called up to the senior team alongside fellow academy member Felix Passlack, has received praise from Tuchel for his efforts over the winter break, including a goal against South Korean club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC last week.
