Two of professional boxing's most talked-about fighters will square off for the first time on Saturday as Ryan Garcia defends his WBC welterweight title against Conor Benn in Las Vegas.

Benn is attempting to capture the first world title of his professional career, but it won't be easy for the 29-year-old. Garcia is a highly decorated fighter and one of the best in his weight class when outside distractions don't affect his in-ring performances.
Garcia put together an elite performance in February against Mario Barrios in his last fight, capturing the WBC strap in the win. "King Ry" used quick combinations and a powerful right hand to floor Barrios in Round 1 and maintained control throughout the bout, earning a dominant unanimous decision.
However, Benn is no slouch either. The son of former two-division champion Nigel Benn has left his own mark on boxing as well, navigating a roller-coaster career marked by a drug suspension and an epic feud with Chris Eubank Jr., which culminated in Benn beating his countryman last November. In his most recent fight, Benn easily dispatched Regis Prograis by unanimous decision after overcoming cuts in the early stages.
Skills aside, the build-up has only heightened anticipation for the bout. Garcia and Benn are two of the best mouthpieces in sports, and watching them talk down to each other has been highly entertaining.
During a recent appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," Garcia called Benn a "fancy trash can" and compared him to "a handsome Squidward," referencing the character from "SpongeBob SquarePants."

Meanwhile, Benn has taken a different approach in criticizing Garcia. He labeled his opponent a quitter, pointing to Garcia's losses to Gervonta Davis and Rolly Romero - the only two defeats of Garcia's pro career.
While Benn may be able to go toe-to-toe with Garcia verbally, he's never faced such a high-caliber opponent, making him a heavy underdog (+225).
