Ex-WWE star Dean Ambrose joins cast of MMA movie 'Cagefighter'
Former WWE champion Dean Ambrose has landed a role in the upcoming mixed martial arts-themed action flick "Cagefighter."
The film, which is currently in pre-production, will tell the story of an MMA champion who must fight his way back to the top after unexpectedly losing a match to a professional wrestler making his crossover debut, according to Andreas Wiseman of Deadline.
It will star real-life MMA fighter and actor Josh Herdman - best known for playing Gregory Goyle in the "Harry Potter" series - alongside Michael Jai White, Gina Gershon, Michelle Ryan, and Jason Maza.
MMA stars Anderson Silva, Georges St. Pierre, and Alexander Gustafsson are also set to appear in the film.
Ambrose - real name Jonathan Good - left WWE in April when his contract expired. He recently teased the return of "Jon Moxley," a ring name he used on the independent circuit before signing with WWE in 2011.
