World No. 1 Naomi Osaka has been eliminated from the Miami Open, falling to No. 27 Hsieh Su-Wei in the third round, 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-3.
The 21-year-old Osaka must now wait and watch as Petra Kvitova, Simona Halep, and Angelique Kerber vie for her spot atop the WTA rankings.
Su-Wei, 33, continues to play some of the most inspired tennis of her career.
