After failing to cooperate with an investigation into bribery allegations associated with Qatar's 2022 World Cup bid, Franz Beckenbauer has received a provisional ban from FIFA that will stop him from taking part in any football-related activity for 90 days.
The German official, and former coach, manager and player for Germany failed to meet with FIFA's Ethics Committee despite repeated requests to do so. Beckenbauer, who was twice selected as European Footballer of the Year, is the only person to win the World Cup as both captain (1974) and coach (1990).
