France gained a lot of admirers on social media on Tuesday as it booked a place in the 2018 World Cup final.
Samuel Umtiti's header was all Les Bleus needed to get past Belgium in the semi-finals. They had few problems defending the 1-0 lead, with the likes of Olivier Giroud and Antoine Griezmann contributing to the defensive effort.
Here's how Twitter reacted to France's professional victory:
Probably an Italian take, but player of the match for me: Varane. He was immense. Cannavaro-like (almost)

Umititi is the Venn Diagram of Puyol and Pique

A more enterprising coach might have turned this France team into something really exciting, but what Didier Deschamps has done is turn them into a team of winners. And you can’t really argue with that.

I'm trying to work out what France remind me of. They're kind of a mix between a boa constrictor and a fire blanket. A team that always has enough, and much more, but always only does enough, and never more.

As it stands, in six matches Argentina remain the only team to score against France in open play. And they scored three.

Judging by France's celebrations here they don't think much of England or Croatia...
