Nurse is the first woman to ever be featured on the game's cover. The franchise introduced women's national team rosters to the game in NHL 22.
"It's something that I never even thought was in the realm of possibilities," Nurse said, per ESPN's Greg Wyshynski. "I never even dreamed of being on it. And so, I think that it's huge, and I think that it just speaks for where women's hockey is right now, the visibility and the value that people see in women's hockey."
Nurse, 27, has won gold with Canada at both the Olympics and world championships. She's cousins with Edmonton Oilers blue-liner Darnell Nurse.
Zegras, a Calder Trophy finalist this past season, produced several video game-type highlights in his rookie year. His famous flip pass to Sonny Milano will be a feature in the upcoming game, programmers told Wyshynski.
A full reveal for NHL 23 is set for Aug. 25.
