U.S. bobsledder who broke down door gets stuck in elevator

After American bobsledder Johnny Quinn reduced his wooden bathroom door in Sochi to cardboard after locking himself in, it's only appropriate that the medal hopeful would later find himself stuck in an elevator.

I'm not sure what the issue is here. Why doesn't he just reduce it to rubble? Clearly, the American bobsledders are all powerful beings.
