Diaz will sit out Saturday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis:Diaz was included in the Rays' initial lineup for Saturday's contest before later being removed, though manager Kevin Cash clarified that Diaz is getting a scheduled day off and was never meant to be part of the starting nine. The Rays will use Jake Fraley as their designated hitter while Diaz sits.
