The Los Angeles Sparks are trading Kelsey Plum to the Phoenix Mercury in exchange for Monique Akoa Makani, a 2027 first-round pick, and a 2028 second-round selection, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania and Kendra Andrews.

Plum, a five-time All-Star and two-time WNBA champion, has been sidelined since June 21 with a left leg injury but is expected to return soon.

The 31-year-old is averaging 23.9 points and 6.4 assists in 34.5 minutes over 12 games this season while shooting 52.7% and 38.3% from deep. Over her seven-year career, Plum has averaged 15.5 points, 4.4 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 0.9 steals across 290 games.

Plum was acquired by the Sparks in February 2025 from the Las Vegas Aces in a three-team trade involving the Seattle Storm.

Makani is in her second season in the WNBA. The 25-year-old guard is averaging 9.4 points, 2.5 assists, 2.1 boards, and 1.2 steals over 19 games this year while playing 23.4 minutes per game.
