Washington Mystics rookie Georgia Amoore will miss her inaugural WNBA season after having successful surgery to repair a right ACL injury, the team announced Friday.
The sixth pick in the 2025 draft suffered the injury during a team practice at the end of April.
The two-time AP All-American played four seasons at Virginia Tech, where she made two All-ACC squads. She then played a fifth campaign at Kentucky, averaging 19.6 points, 6.9 assists, and 2.3 rebounds.
The Mystics finished the 2024 season in ninth place with a 14-26 record. They'll begin the 2025 campaign Friday night against the Atlanta Dream.
