The Seattle Storm selected French center Dominique Malonga with the second pick in the WNBA draft Monday.
Malonga averaged 16.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game for French club ASVEL. The 6-foot-6 center won a silver medal with France at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Storm acquired the pick from the Los Angeles Sparks in a massive three-team trade that also involved the Las Vegas Aces. Seattle traded Jewell Loyd to the Aces, while Las Vegas sent Kelsey Plum to Los Angeles.
Seattle also received center Li Yueru, a second-round pick in 2025, and a first-round selection in 2026 in the trade.
The Storm finished 25-15 last season and lost in the first round of the postseason. The franchise have won two titles since 2018 and only missed the playoffs in 2023.
