Clark, Reese lead WNBA jersey sales
The WNBA is experiencing a surge in merchandise sales this season thanks in part to rookies Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.
Clark and Reese rank No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in WNBA jersey sales on Fanatics, which reported a 500% increase in sales through the first half of the season compared to last year, according to TMZ Sports. The WNBA's official retail partner has also seen a 1,000% increase in player-specific merchandise sales so far this season.
"Fan gear sales for the first half of the season are the highest in league history," Fanatics said.
New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu had the third-highest-selling jersey, with Las Vegas Aces teammates Kate Martin and A'ja Wilson rounding out the top five.
The WNBA will be on break until Aug. 14 for the Paris Olympics, where Ionescu, Wilson, and the rest of the United States women's national basketball team will be competing for an eighth consecutive gold medal.
