Clark, Reese break WNBA viewership record again in 3rd meeting
A record audience tuned in to watch rookies Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese in their third matchup of the season.
Sunday's contest between Clark's Indiana Fever and Reese's Chicago Sky averaged 2.30 million viewers on ESPN, surpassing the team's previous meeting to become the most-watched WNBA game of the campaign, according to Jon Lewis of Sports Media Watch.
The matchup was also the most-watched since a 2001 Memorial Day contest between the Los Angeles Sparks and Houston Comets, which averaged 2.45 million viewers.
Reese scored a career-high 25 points and added 16 rebounds to help lead the Sky to an 88-87 win over the Fever. Clark also had a big game, finishing with 17 points and a franchise-record 13 assists.
The Fever and Sky face each other for the fourth and final time this season on Aug. 30 in Chicago.
