Magic Johnson agrees with the comparisons being made between his rivalry with Larry Bird and that of WNBA rookies Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.

"I like it and they are," Johnson said when asked if he likes the comparisons during a recent appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

The NBA Hall of Famer also shared his thoughts on the rough treatment Clark has received in the WNBA thus far, explaining how he too was tested by veteran players as a rookie. He then suggested that the Indiana Fever star give Bird a call as she continues to adjust to the pros.

"I think that he could give her great advice on how to handle this situation because he went through it himself," Johnson said. "So it would be a perfect situation. He already lived there, grew up in Indiana, on and on and on. I think it would be great."

Clark and Reese first crossed paths in high school, but their rivalry intensified in 2023 when LSU defeated Iowa in the NCAA Tournament national title game.

The pair squared off for the first time in their WNBA careers on June 1, with Clark's Fever prevailing over Reese's Sky 71-70. Their next matchup will take place on June 16.
