Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks after suffering a toe fracture on her left foot, the team announced Monday.
The Mercury are set to kick off their regular season on the road against the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday.
Griner earned her eighth All-Star appearance last season, averaging 17.5 points per game on 56.2% shooting to go along with 6.3 rebounds per game.
Griner, the No. 1 pick in 2013, has put together an illustrious career that includes two Defensive Player of the Year awards and a league title in 2014.
