Fever's Boston wins WNBA Rookie of the Year, leads All-Rookie team
Indiana Fever forward/center Aliyah Boston was named WNBA Rookie of the Year on Monday.
She received all 60 votes from the national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters for the award.
Boston averaged 14.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocked shots in 31.2 minutes in 40 games this season. She led the league in shooting from the field at 57.8%, becoming the first rookie to lead the league in that category in a season.
The 21-year-old also was named to the WNBA All-Rookie team, joining Seattle Storm wing Jordan Horston, Minnesota Lynx forwards Dorka Juhasz and Diamond Miller, and Washington Mystics guard Li Meng.

Boston was also named an All-Star starter in her rookie season.
This is the second time a Fever player has been awarded Rookie of the Year. Tamika Catchings earned the distinction in 2002.
