Free-agent star Angel McCoughtry has agreed to sign with the Minnesota Lynx, Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes reports.

McCoughtry, 35, spent the first 10 seasons of her career with Atlanta after the Dream drafted her with the No. 1 pick in 2009. She then joined the Las Vegas Aces ahead of the 2020 campaign.

The five-time All-Star missed the entire 2021 campaign after tearing the ACL and meniscus in her right knee during the preseason. Prior to her latest setback, McCoughtry also missed the entire 2017 season for rest and was sidelined for the vast majority of 2019 with a knee injury.

McCoughtry has proven to be a dominant player when healthy, posting career averages of 18.7 points, five rebounds, and three assists across 309 games.

Among her many accolades, the new Lynx wing was named the 2009 WNBA Rookie of the Year, selected to two All-WNBA first teams, and chosen to seven WNBA All-Defensive first teams. McCoughtry also earned a spot on the WNBA 25th Anniversary Team.

Minnesota finished third last season in the WNBA with a 22-10 record.
