Washington Mystics center Tina Charles will miss the team's June 17 game versus the Atlanta Dream to attend the premiere of "Game Changer," a short film the star center directed and produced, at the Tribeca Film Festival, the team announced.
"This project has been over a year in the making, so we had discussed well in advance that she should be in attendance at the premiere and enjoy the honor of being part of the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival," head coach and general manager Mike Thibault said in a statement.
In 10 appearances this season, Charles, an eight-time All-WNBA selection and former league MVP, has averaged a career-best 24 points per game along with 8.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists in just under 32 minutes a night.
