WNBA reschedules Game 1 of Lynx-Storm series for Tuesday
The Minnesota Lynx and Seattle Storm will play Game 1 of their WNBA semifinal series Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. ET, the league announced.
The contest was initially scheduled for Sunday but was postponed after COVID-19 tests administered to unnamed Storm players yielded inconclusive results.
"After comprehensive consultation with health and safety specialists following the additional testing of Seattle's players and staff as well as the implementation of contact tracing, we feel confident in moving forward with the Storm and Lynx taking the court for Game 1 of their semifinals series," WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a league statement.
All but one of the Storm players whose tests yielded inconclusive results underwent extensive additional testing and have been cleared to rejoin the squad. One player is still awaiting a second consecutive negative result as mandated under WNBA health and safety protocols.
