The return of the Clasico Cordobes was marred by violence.

Club Atletico Belgrano and Club Atletico Talleres played out a 1-1 draw in the Primera Division on Saturday. The game marked the first time in 15 years that the two clubs from Cordoba, Argentina, crossed paths in Argentinian football's first division.

But the match was marred by two incidents, including one in which supporters of Belgrano beat a man named Emanuel Balbo and threw him from a stand at the Mario Alberto Kempes, according to FOX Sports. Only supporters of Los Piratas were allowed at the stadium. Another supporter named Diego Frydman is recovering.

The chief of security at the Hospital de Urgencias said Balbo, 22, arrived at the hospital with cardiac arrest and severe skull trauma. In conversation with Cadena 3, Maximiliano Titarelli, the deputy director of the hospital, described the victim's state of consciousness as "very low" and his condition as "critical."

"It's a severe skull trauma, his condition is critical, to the point that there's very little reflection, few signs of cerebral vitality," Titarelli said, according to TyC Sports.

Belgrano published a statement Sunday that read: "Club Atletico Belgrano repudiates the two incidents that occurred yesterday afternoon and that, in an isolated manner, will leave two injured people in the balance.

"More than 57,000 piratas attended the Kempes to enjoy a sporting party in peace, which was tarnished by these undesirable events.

"From Belgrano we pray for the recovery of Emanuel Balbo and Diego Frydman, we call on reflection for what happened, and we remain at the disposal of the security agencies to collaborate in the clarification of both cases."

Balbo's father, Raul, dismissed suggestions that his son supports Talleres and was infiltrating Belgrano's fans, declaring: "The first thing I want to clarify is that my son isn't a fan of Talleres, my son doesn't have a single tattoo of Talleres, and my son wasn't robbing on the pitch, he's of Belgrano."

Raul alleged the violence arose because his son encountered Oscar Gomez, one of the men who killed another of Raul's sons, according to La Voz del Interior.
