Ex-South Carolina standout Fulwiley transferring to LSU
Reigning SEC Sixth Woman of the Year MiLaysia Fulwiley will play her junior season at conference rival LSU after transferring from South Carolina, she announced Friday on Instagram.
The 5-foot-10 guard played her first two seasons with the Gamecocks and was a key piece of the squad that won the 2024 national title.
Fulwiley averaged 11.7 points, 2.1 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in 77 career games for South Carolina. She won the SEC Tournament MVP as a freshman and is a two-time All-SEC tourney nominee.
The 20-year-old saw her minutes diminish and she recorded two of her four lowest minute totals in the NCAA Tournament.
Fulwiley bolsters an already impressive LSU backcourt, as both Flau'Jae Johnson and Mikaylah Williams are returning to Baton Rouge.
The Tigers went 31-6 overall and finished third in the SEC after going 12-4 in conference play. They were beaten by UCLA in the Elite Eight.
