D-I leading scorer Latson transfers to South Carolina
Florida State guard and Divison I scoring leader Ta'Niya Latson announced her commitment to South Carolina on Tuesday.
Latson averaged 25.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.2 steals for Florida State this campaign. She's averaged more than 20 points in all three of her collegiate seasons.
The Seminoles lost to LSU in the second round of March Madness.
Latson will reunite with high school teammate Raven Johnson. Johnson said she and Latson played AAU ball with South Carolina teammates MiLaysia Fulwiley and Ashlyn Watkins, according to ESPN's Andrea Adelson.
South Carolina lacked a lead scorer this season, as Joyce Edwards topped the team with 12.7 points per game. But with a balanced attack, the Gamecocks reached the Finals before losing to UConn on Saturday.
