Ionescu hints at teaming up with Clark for future shootout vs. Curry
Next year's 3-point contest between New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry could turn into a tag team affair.
Following the inaugural NBA versus WNBA 3-point challenge at All-Star Weekend on Saturday, Ionescu and Curry were asked about potentially getting Iowa star Caitlin Clark involved. Ionescu revealed that she and Curry have already discussed the possibility of having each of them partner up with someone else.
"We've been talking about finding different ways to change this up next year, and I think he has a partner in mind that's gonna join him," Ionescu said. "And so I'm open to any partner that can help me win and take that belt that he has up front and center away from him."
Curry defeated Ionescu 29-26 at Saturday's shootout in Indianapolis, which was dubbed "Stephen vs. Sabrina." He was awarded a championship belt for his efforts.

Clark recently achieved a noteworthy accolade of her own, becoming the new NCAA Division I women's basketball all-time scoring leader after dropping a career-high 49 points in a 106-89 win over Michigan on Thursday.
