Phillies' Harper commits to USA at World Baseball Classic
Bryce Harper is finally suiting up for the United States at the World Baseball Classic.
The Philadelphia Phillies' superstar first baseman announced Tuesday that he intends to take part in next year's event for the first time.
"Put the colors on my chest for the first time when I was 15. No other feeling like it," Harper wrote on Instagram. "I'm excited to announce I will be representing Team USA this year in the WBC. Merica!"

The two-time MVP missed the 2023 WBC while recovering from offseason elbow surgery following the Phillies' run to the NL pennant.
USA Baseball has not yet officially announced Harper's inclusion on the roster.
Assuming his spot is confirmed, he'll join Phillies teammate Kyle Schwarber on a loaded U.S. team that also includes fellow sluggers Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh, along with Cy Young winners Paul Skenes and Tarik Skubal.
Harper hit .261 with 27 homers and 75 RBIs in 2025.
The 33-year-old has represented his country in the past, winning a gold medal with USA Baseball's 16U and 18U teams in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
The World Baseball Classic begins March 5, 2026.
The Americans, who lost to Japan in the 2023 championship game, open play against Brazil on March 6 at Daikin Park in Houston.
