Toni, Icardi finish season with 22 goals, share Capocannoniere award

Another Serie A season came to an end on Sunday, and following a wild, goal-filled day of action, there was some hardware to hand out.

Ageless Verona striker Luca Toni, who scored his 22nd goal of the season on Saturday against Juventus, went into the final day of the campaign leading Inter star Mauro Icardi by two goals in the race to be the Capocannoniere - the league's top scorer.

Icardi, though, wasn't going to give up his claim on the title so easily.

The Argentine scored twice in Inter's 4-3 win over Empoli, thus ensuring that he finished the season in a tie with the Italian veteran, who is 16 years his elder.

In the process, the two men made a bit of history.
