Hernan Crespo, one of the most dangerous strikers to ever represent Parma Football Club, is joining the reformed Parma Calcio 1913.
After a board meeting on Friday, Parma announced that Crespo and Giacomo Malmesi, a lawyer, were conferred as the Crociati's vice-presidents.
"Thanks to Parma's shareholders for the appointment," Crespo wrote on Twitter. "With passion, love and humility we will continue to write history together. One more time."

Crespo became the world's most expensive footballer when he moved from SS Lazio to Parma in 2000 for a reported fee of £35.5 million, but it was during his first spell with the Crociati, from 1996 to 2000, that they conquered the UEFA Cup. The former striker's time in Serie A also included spells at Internazionale, AC Milan, and Genoa CFC, and, after hanging up his boots in 2012, he worked as a youth coach for Parma and went on to become Modena's manager.
In 2015, Parma, unable to clear its debts, was put up for sale and valued at a minimum of €20 million. The Crociati subsequently failed to find a new owner, were relegated to Serie D, and forced to reform as Parma Calcio 1913.
