Poulin headlines PWHL's 3-on-3 Showcase rosters

The PWHL's three-on-three showcase roster for NHL All-Star Thursday were unveiled by both leagues on Monday.

The 24 players comprise 17 of the 18 inaugural signings (Micah Zandee-Hart is unavailable due to injury) and seven of the first 12 draft picks. Team Billie Jean King will be coached by Cassie Campbell-Pascall, while Meghan Duggan will be behind the bench for Team Ilana Kloss.

Marie-Philip Poulin, captain of Team Canada, and Hilary Knight, captain of Team USA, notably feature on the same side. The two stars played one season together with the CWHL's Montreal Canadiennes in 2018-19.

Defender Ella Shelton scored the first goal in league history and currently leads the PWHL in scoring with six points.

Ann-Renee Desbiens and Aerin Frankel star on opposite sides of the Canada-USA rivalry as their respective nation's starting goaltenders.

New York star Alex Carpenter ranks second in goals (three) and points (five) through four games. She'll feature alongside Minnesota first overall pick Taylor Heise on Team Kloss, who has already scored a pair of highlight-reel goals.

Erin Ambrose reunites with Team Canada defenders Renata Fast and Jocelyne Larocque on the backend. The No. 2 netminders on the international stage, Nicole Hensley and Emerance Maschmeyer, feature between the pipes for Team Kloss.

The two sides will play a 20-minute game of three-on-three on Feb. 1 as part of the NHL's All-Star festivities.
