Robert MacIntyre is the latest golfer to receive a code of conduct warning at The Open after he slammed his club on the tee box during Sunday's round.
However, the Scotsman didn't appear apologetic when he met with the media after posting a 1-over 71 to sit tied for 31st on the leaderboard.
"I expect to get a few of them in my career," MacIntyre said. "Yeah, I run hot. So be it."
MacIntyre only doubled down when pressed further.
"I try and toe the line, but when you feel you're playing a golf course that you can hit it pretty much anywhere, and there's no real punishment, and then you do hit one slightly off line, and you get the biggest punishment you can possibly get, it's just a sore one," MacIntyre said. "Again, I'm going to react aggressively at times. Part of my DNA."
Jon Rahm was also given a conduct warning for his behavior on a tee box on Friday when he threw a club following a poor shot.
The passionate display by MacIntyre is nothing new, as he's frequently prone to some of the most emotional outbursts on the PGA TOUR. Ranked No. 15 in the OWGR, he's repeatedly explained that the intensity is part of his identity as a player.
