The most clustered leaderboard in PGA Championship history now has a target to shoot for in the final round at Aronimink.
Kurt Kitayama, who went off in the fourth tee time of the morning, absolutely torched the challenging layout Sunday, putting up a sizzling 7-under 63. That number matches the final-round record at the PGA Championship set by Brad Faxon in 1995.
The American started his morning with a bang by birdieing the opening three holes. Putter was the weapon of choice for Kitayama, as five of his seven birdies came from outside 12 feet.
Kitayama's performance showed what's possible for the chasers on the board as they hope to cut into Alex Smalley's two-stroke lead. Entering Sunday, there were 22 men within four shots of the top spot, breaking the previous PGA Championship record of 18.
