The PGA TOUR returns to Trump National Doral Miami for the first time in 10 years for the Cadillac Championship, a new signature event added to the 2026 calendar.
A 72-man field with no cut will compete at the famed Blue Monster course, a 7,739-yard, par-72 layout that features water hazards on 10 holes and can play extremely difficult when the winds pick up.
Scottie Scheffler is the betting favorite, while notables such as Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, and Ludvig Aberg have elected to skip this tournament. With another signature event on the schedule next week, followed by the PGA Championship, many top players are taking this weekend off.
Past winners at Doral
2025: Marc Leishman (-6) - LIV Miami
2024: Dean Burmester (-11) - LIV Miami
2016: Adam Scott (-12)
2015: Dustin Johnson (-9)
2014: Patrick Reed (-4)
2013: Tiger Woods (-19)
2012: Justin Rose (-16)
Since 2011, the list of former champions at the Blue Monster includes four Masters winners (Scott, Johnson, Reed, Woods) and players who were successful at Torrey Pines, Bay Hill, and Riviera (Leishman, Rose). The course challenges golfers' long-iron game with its length, and its greens test their short-game skills, especially when the wind rises.

Scheffler's time

🏌 Bet: Scottie Scheffler to win (+300)
The world No. 1 is winless since the end of January, but this week feels like the perfect time for him to return to the winner's circle. As one of the best long-iron players, Scheffler is an ideal fit for the Blue Monster. He gained 6.5 strokes on approach shots in his runner-up showing at the Masters and followed that performance up with a well-rounded effort at the RBC Heritage for another second-place result.
Scheffler has been knocking on the door for a victory for a few weeks now, and there's no McIlroy or Matt Fitzpatrick in the field this time around - arguably the two other best players in the world at the moment.
Scheffler didn't have a win at this point in the schedule last year, but his incredible streak began when the calendar flipped to May. Expecting a similar run seems reasonable, and it could very well start this week at Doral.
Scottie's challengers
🏌 Bet: Chris Gotterup to finish top five (+475)

You can't bet more players to win the tournament if you're taking Scheffler at +300. Therefore, backing Gotterup in the top-five market is a nice way to get exposure to a player who should be in the mix.
Gotterup is a tremendous course fit for the Blue Monster. The 26-year-old can hit a variety of shots that work well in the wind, and he has the distance off the tee to get a leg up on most of the competition. He's also had consistent results over the past three weeks, including a nice T24 in his Masters debut. A two-time winner this year, Gotterup should be chasing Scheffler late Sunday if he can tidy up his iron play slightly compared to his previous three tournaments.

🏌 Bet: Sahith Theegala to finish top 10 (+500)
Theegala continues to show flashes of his iron play, suggesting a top-end finish is likely to come soon. He gained over four strokes through approach shots in three of his past five events while continuing to display his world-class short game each week. Notably, players like Leishman and Reed have won at the Blue Monster, and both have exceptional short games despite less accuracy off the tee. Additionally, Theegala's four top-10 showings in 11 tournaments in 2026 highlight his potential to finish inside the top 10 this week.
