Fowler jumps into top 50; Spieth, Clark eliminated from TOUR playoffs
Rickie Fowler is among five golfers who played their way into the BMW Championship by reaching the top 50 of the FedEx Cup standings after the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday.
On the flip side, Jordan Spieth and Wyndham Clark were among those eliminated from the PGA TOUR postseason.
Fowler jumped 16 spots from 64th to 48th with his T-6 finish in Memphis. Kurt Kitayama, Bud Cauley, Jhonattan Vegas, and J.T. Poston also played their way into the top 50 and will tee off in Maryland in hopes of vaulting into the top 30 and vying for the TOUR Championship.
All players in the top 50 are qualified for next season's signature events.
Aldrich Potgieter, Jake Knapp, and Min Woo Lee were also eliminated after failing to maintain their positions in the top 50, in addition to Spieth and Clark.
