Charlie Woods entering pre-qualifier for Cognizant Classic
Charlie Woods is seeking to qualify for the upcoming Cognizant Classic, which takes place in his hometown.
Tiger Woods' 15-year-old son will play in a pre-qualifier Thursday at Lost Lake Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida, according to PGATOUR.com. About 25 players and ties will move on to another pre-qualifier Monday, and four golfers from that group will advance to earn spots in the Cognizant Classic at The Palm Beaches.
The event runs from Feb. 29 through March 3 at PGA National's Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Charlie will tee off along with Irishman Ruaidhri McGee and fellow Floridian Olin Browne Jr., whose father won three PGA TOUR titles.
The younger Woods has played in the PNC Championship with his dad for the last four years, and the high-profile duo finished as the runners-up in 2021.
Charlie also competed in the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship last year with Tiger as his caddy. He finished tied for 17th in the Boys 14-15 division. Charlie gained entry into that event with rounds of 71 and 66 at a qualifier in Florida.
