Corey Conners held off a pair of Sams to capture the Valero Texas Open title for the second time in his career Sunday.
The Canadian fired a final-round 68 to finish at 15-under, besting Sam Stevens by one stroke and Sam Ryder by two. Matt Kuchar also finished two shots back to tie Ryder for third. Stevens and Ryder both posted a 6-under 66 in the final round.
Stevens eagled No. 17 but missed a nine-footer for birdie that would've tied Conners on 18. The winner sunk a three-foot par putt on the final hole to seal the victory.
Patrick Rodgers shot a 1-over 73 on Sunday to finish fifth at 11-under. He led the tournament after both the second and third rounds. Conners sat on top after Round 1.
The 31-year-old became the third Canadian to win on the PGA TOUR this season, joining Mackenzie Hughes and Adam Svensson. Hughes was victorious at the Sanderson Farms Championship in October, and Svensson won the RSM Classic in November.
Conners also claimed the Texas Open title in 2019 when he prevailed by two shots over Charley Hoffman. As a result, Conners nabbed the final spot for the Masters that year, but not before winning a six-man playoff at a Monday qualifying event that he had to play due to his conditional status.
He tied for sixth at Augusta last year after tying for eighth in 2021 and 10th in 2020.
