One tweet is all it takes to send the golf world into a frenzy - if the tweeter is Tiger Woods.

If you're a golf fan between the ages of 0 and 99 with a pulse, your interest in the Genesis Invitational got cranked up beyond where it might have started for the PGA TOUR's second straight $20-million event.

Pulling for Woods is never about the money. But in case you'd like to make it about the money, you can.

We'll happily spin off from our usual tournament preview to address Woods' odds. Having marched up and down them myself, there are two main literal hills Tiger will have to climb - up to the 10th tee and up 18. The walk around the Riviera Country Club isn't that taxing. However, there are still a lot of unknowns for Woods.

Tiger on the prowl?

MARKET WOODS' ODDS
WIN +12500
TOP 5 +2000
TOP 10 +1000
TOP 20 +400
TOP 40 +225
MAKE CUT +150

Much has been made of Woods never having won at the "Riv," but until 2018, he'd never finished outside of the top 20 (partly because he stopped attending the event after 2006). Since taking over as host of the event in his post-prime years, he has a missed cut, T15, and 68th.

When he returned for the majors last year, we didn't know what to expect from him physically, and we watched him grind out his rounds somewhat painfully. There was little expectation Woods would golf this week, which suggests he actually wants to play rather than feeling obligated because of the event's stature. A top 20 over four rounds might be asking too much, but at +150 or better, getting two good rounds out of Woods on a course that won't require a super-low score is worth adding in the spirit of the week.
